Project: Grounded 02

Grounded 02 by Nexus Designs and Design Futures Lab for Material Matters 02 investigates the potential of spent coffee grounds as a bio-based material using only natural binding agents. This collaboration focuses on the bringing together of youthful insight, scientific interrogation and design innovation to investigate the development of sustainable materials. Nexus Designs and Design Futures Lab, a secondary school makers laboratory, partnered with young minds from Sacred Heart College, Geelong, to focus on using the waste resource of spent coffee grounds to create innovative biomaterials that are both circular and regenerative.
