SPH Architecture + Interiors

SPH is a combined architectural and interior design practice that has built a reputation for successful delivery of projects across a range of sectors including resources, health, education and industrial. Our team achieves project success through effective communication of design ideas and by respecting the project parameters of quality, time and cost, whilst achieving the client’s objectives.

By incorporating thoughtful and intelligent design with high quality stakeholder engagement, SPH enables outstanding results for end-users and our clients.

SPH is led by directors Nick Silich, Jamie Penn and Lisa Hunt. All three directors are actively involved in the design and delivery of projects. The practice operates with the belief that great architecture should always produce great outcomes for clients, their staff and the community. Meeting the needs of end users is a primary focus.

Project: Gudai-Darri Social Hub

A Social Hub to reshape, re-secure and redefine the social landscape for mining residents on the lands Banjima people.

The brief set the important and ambitious goal of transforming the ageing social fabric at Gudai-Darri mining village by improving key focus areas as identified in an independent survey report commissioned by EY. This introduced an element of corporate social responsibility in addressing declining resident sentiment and an environment with a range of psychosocial hazards.

Extensive site stakeholder engagement alongside close analysis of the report's data, resulted in the establishment of primary design objectives; diversity and inclusion, well-being, enabling and most importantly, safety. Through such engagement, a strategy was developed to deal with the vastness and soullessness of the existing built social spaces.
