Project: Citadel
A design brief rich in the building’s history, our approach was an amalgamation of industrial, art deco and federation. Whilst staying true to the soul of the building our vision was to transform the space into a family home reflective of the client’s personal aesthetic.
The front building and original Citadel, built in 1910 and the back building - a former stables, built in 1923 - lay bare to reveal original brickwork and a number of beautiful original trusses which extended up to the high-pitched ceiling. Once exposed, the framework for the project unfolded with the design of the bedroom wing, lounge and kitchen spaces.
