DJAS Architecture

DJAS, one of Canberra’s leading workplace designers contribution to the design & design advocacy is vast having our senior managers, tutoring at local universities & institutions, and Council or Board members for the DIA, PCA and AIA. We believe in bringing the right people to the table and welcome external collaboration. IPH was designed in collaboration with EMA. As a studio, we believe in collaboration and bringing an extensive design lens to the table with in-house architects, workplace change changers and strategists, colour consultancy, graphic designers, interior designers, and workplace designers. This Project was designed by Monica Abbondante.

Project: Ian Potter House

Our focus was to honour and enhance the unique heritage of IPH, and to modernise its interior for current and future generations of Academy staff and Fellows. The look & feel was one of embracing elegance and sophistication, adding light and lightness to the interior. While taking cues from the Shine Dome, with the introduction of timber elements, curves and touches of colour, we drew on the heritage of the building itself to inform elements of design. The restoration of the curved entrance doors, fireplaces, and coffered ceilings added to the preservation of the building’s unique character, and provides interest and delight to all who visit or occupy this unique Canberra Building.
