Project: Davis House

AKI was tasked with integrating a Victorian home with a modern extension on an adjacent block of land. The goal was for the house to honour its heritage while seamlessly transitioning into the new extension, creating a cohesive blend of old and new. The design needed to cater to the client's love for entertaining, ranging from large pool parties to intimate wine and cigar nights. The overall ambiance aimed to be luxurious, comfortable, and highly functional.

Inspiration for the design of this home came from the rich Victorian heritage. This heritage was reflected in the choice of artwork and the incorporation of iconic furniture pieces. The goal was to create a space that exuded timeless elegance while embracing modern amenities and design principles from the new extension. The integration of high-end finishes was intended to enhance the sense of luxury and durability, ensuring that the home would remain stylish and functional for years to come.

Colour Scheme was rich and reflective of the home's heritage and the iconic 70s to find its place within the home’s narrative. The colours used throughout the home are derived directly from the stunning Viola marble. Colours such as burgundy, deep green, navy blue, and bold bronze metal. These colours not only tied the old and new parts of the home together but also created a warm and inviting atmosphere suitable for both large gatherings and intimate evenings.

AKI aimed to create a design that respected the home's history while integrating modern elements seamlessly, ensuring the space would be both visually striking and highly practical.
